Drawing with Colored Pastels

Drawings/Works on Paper, Class/Workshop

Come explore the wonderful art medium of Pastel. This fantastic medium allows the artist to apply beautiful, vibrant color quickly without the use of brushes or solvents! This class will cover information on all of the different types of pastels available for artists today, as well as the tools of the trade, techniques of application and papers/substrates for the medium. Art theory will also be discussed, including how to achieve value gradation in color, and the use of line and value to form beautiful subject matter. Still life set ups will be provided, and students will leave the class with a completed works of Art.

Intro to Crochet

Textiles, Class/Workshop

Whether you are new to crochet or want to brush up on old skills, Intro to Crochet is right for you. Participants will learn the basics of crocheting including; chain, single crochet, double crochet and slip stitch. Through instruction and hands-on practice, we will create a crochet potholder and crochet hat with a pom-pom!
