Carlo Aonzo Trio in Mandolitaly

MANDOLITALY focuses on the roots of Italian music, enriched by the flavor and uniqueness of the Carlo Aonzo Trio sound: swing, jazz and elaborated rhythms strongly influenced by North and South American elements interact with classical and folk music. Time for Three

Classical, Pop

Nicolas Kendall, Charles Yang and double-bassist Ranaan Meyer, comprise a string trio that defies classification. Tf3’s high-energy performances are free of conventional practices, drawing from the members’ unique musical backgrounds. Time for Three performs music from Bach to Brahms as well as ingenious mash-ups of hits from a wide range of artists from the Beatles and Kanye West to Justin Timberlake. The Argyros is delighted to welcome Tf3 back to the theater.

The Mystical Arts of Tibet - Two Part Event

MANDALA SAND PAINTING: July 30 - August 3, Free All over the world, record-breaking crowds have watched the Drepung Loseling monks lay down millions of grains of sand to create Mandala Sand Paintings. The creation of a sand painting requires three to five days of painting and the sand mandala is then ritualistically dismantled, the sand is collected and transported to a river where it is released back into nature. This symbolizes the ephemerality of life and the world. This event will take place over five days at The Argyros and is free to the public from 10am - 6pm daily. SACRED MUSIC SACRED DANCE: August 3, 7:30pm ticketed This performance combines multiphonic chanting, music and dance into an unforgettable experience. The selections are drawn from temple dances that have been performed for thousands of years in Tibet.
